Your Guide to Commissioning
a
 Mural

The Contract

So, you want to commission a mural. That's great! Murals are a fantastic way to beautify your home, to advertise your business, or to capture your individuality. However, it's important to remember that murals are like tattoos: expensive and (mostly) permanent. We'll go through the process together to ensure you love your mural for years to come.

To get started, please submit a Mural Inquiry Form. If your commission is accepted, the artist (me) and the client (you) will enter into a contract that outlines our financial agreement and includes a final, approved design for the mural.

Budget and Timeline

Every mural is unique. Therefore, every budget and timeline looks a little bit different. For a budget estimation, please view my pricing chart. Because of the nature of this project, murals cannot be refunded.

DOWN PAYMENT: I require a down payment for every commission. The amount will vary based on the size of your mural, but on average, I ask that you pay half the total cost upfront.

CONSULTATIONS: Two free consultations are included as part of my services. This provides us with an opportunity to discuss your project in more detail,  review the contract and make any necessary revisions to the mural design. If additional consultations or revisions are required, my rate is $95/hour.

Private vs. Public

I am happy to paint a mural in any kind of space, so long as the wall is flat and perpendicular to the ground (sorry, no ceilings). Private murals are intended for personal enjoyment, located in your home or backyard. Public murals are displayed in a location where they can be enjoyed by the public, such as in an office or community park.

4

Custom vs. Flash

And now, for the best part: choosing your design! I am more than willing to adapt one of my preexisting illustrations into a mural, but I can also work with you to create a custom design that is to your liking.

I will NEVER adapt another artist's work or an AI image into a mural. Additionally, if you are looking for a photorealistic design based on a preexisting image, I am not the right artist for you.

Additional Fees

The price of materials (paint, brushes, drop cloths, primer, etc.) and two consultations is already incorporated into the cost of my services. Depending on the size of your mural, additional equipment such as a scaffold or a power washer may be required, at cost. There may also be an additional fee if the project timeline exceeds one month, or if your custom design is particularly complex.
